A Meal with Friends

Solo exhibition at the Rogue Gallery at Eastern Edge in St. John’s, NL Spring 2025 and at CB Nuit Spiral in Corner Brook, NL September 2024

A Meal with Friends is an interactive performance piece that invites attendees to sit down and have a conversation with the artist, at a table set with mixed-media food sculptures. The meal addresses the spiraling nature of simultaneously building community and self-identity, at a time when access to food has become increasingly difficult.

The means by which we chose to envelope and hold and even transport our objects speaks to who we are as people. My inspiration for these pieces come from experiences as a lesbian and a new mother and what it means to be both embraced and abandoned by my community.
